PT-141 Reviews: Are Claims It’s A Potent Sex Peptide True?
PT-141 is becoming known as “the sex peptide”. But can all those PT-141 reviews be right? Can it really be a way of waking up your brain to sexual desires in a way that you have never experienced before?
In this quick guide, we’re going to cover everything you need to know. You’ll learn exactly what PT-141 is, and how it works.
We will compare PT-141 to other sexual dysfunction medications (although that’s not what it was researched as), and the effects it can have.
Plus, we will cover the bad as well as the good. What the side effects are, and who shouldn’t take PT-141 at all.
On top of all that, I’ll finish this review by telling you where you can actually buy generic PT-141 that is high quality and stops you from spending a lot of money on branded products that can sometimes be six times the price.
What Is PT-141 And What The Hell Does It Do?
People will tell you that PT-141 is basically Viagra. That actually isn’t true though. I’ll go into more detail about exactly how PT-141 (also known by the name Bremelanotide) is and how it works in a moment. But it doesn’t work in the same way as Viagra.
Viagra (generic name Sildenafil), and another erectile dysfunction medication called Cialis Tadalafil), are both PDES inhibitors.I won’t bore you with the exact biology, but they work by increasing blood flow to the genital area.
PT-141 doesn’t work that way at all. What it does is stimulate the melanocortin receptors (which are actually related to pigmentation of the skin, which will talk about or in a moment).
It was found during clinical trials of PT-141 for use for darkening skin pigmentation, that the people in the trials were getting horny. The men were getting erections, and the women were getting more aroused as well (even though it’s not recommended for use by women).
That led to the thinking that it was somehow affecting something in our brains relating to arousal, and that has turned out to be the case.
So it isn’t like Viagra or anything like that. It doesn’t work by directly stimulating blood flow to produce an erection or increase the sensitivity of the female clitoris and labia. It works by telling us that we are aroused!
So PT-141 Isn’t A Bodybuilding Supplement?
There’s some confusion around this because PT-141 is often sold within the peptide sections of sites that sell bodybuilding supplements, specifically SARMs and other peptides. I think people just assume that peptides are all used to aid enhanced bodybuilding results, but that’s not actually the case.
If you take PT-141, you may have a little more energy and drive because you turn up for the gym horny, and you may get an erection or increased stimulation to your female genitalia, but it is not going to do much to build muscle, increase endurance, cut fat, or anything like that.
The bottom line is this stuff is not a bodybuilding supplement. But if you’re not feeling horny, or have erectile dysfunction, then yes, it is something for you to consider trying.
Let’s Talk About Exactly What PT-141 (Bremelanotide) Does
PT-141 is a synthetic peptide analog of alpha-MSH. MSH stands for Melanocyte-Stimulating Hormone. Melanocyte is an endogenous peptide hormone that is one of the groups known collectively as melanocortins.
Peptides are short-chain amino acids of less than 50 chains in length. Anything over that length is usually referred to as a protein. This peptide stimulates melanogenesis, which is responsible for the pigmentation/coloring primarily of hair and skin.
However, what’s now known, is that it also plays a role in regulating feeding behavior, lowering reperfusion injury, and, you guessed it, sexual activity levels.
That’s exactly why we feel hornier in the summer. Exposure to sunshine raises levels that increase our desire.
As a synthetic analog of a-MSH, PT-141 is one of the groups of artificial peptides that’s been researched for the purposes of dealing with pigmentation problems and protection from UV radiation. The most famous of this group of artificial peptides is called Melanotan (I & II).
PT-141 works in the same way in the body, as a non-selective full agonist of the melanocortin receptors. Because it’s a full agonist, persistent use of this peptide will start to darken your skin and hair. By stimulating higher levels of melatonin which affects skin color and our ability to deal with UV light.
So as a pleasant aside, you’ll get a tan if you keep using this stuff. But here’s the thing, even though it’s been proven to work and be just as safe as anything else being used for these purposes, it’s not used in any commercial tanning products. The reason for that, as you probably guessed, is it makes you horny. But that’s exactly why most people are seeking this stuff out to use, not for the purposes of darkening their skin.
And it works. Numerous studies both indirectly during research as a tanning agent, and specifically looking at its abilities to increase arousal, have concluded that it works.
“Administration of PT-141 to normal men and to patients with erectile dysfunction resulted in a rapid dose-dependent increase in erectile activity.”
My PT-141 Experience: Effects & Benefits You Can Realistically Expect
Like I just said, various peptides that work as agonists of the melanocortin receptors were found to not only produce darker skin but also to increase sexual arousal.
This was found in both animal studies and human studies interestingly.
9/10 males in most studies not only found that they could achieve erection far more easily, and often spontaneously just by thinking about sex, but it also increased their interest and desire to have sex.
That’s different from Viagra, which just increases the blood flow. Sure, you can get an erection more easily, but it doesn’t mean you’ll actually want to use it! This stuff does both.
So let’s be clear here. PT-141 is going to get you hard. But more than that, it’s going to get you interested as well.
But unlike Viagra, it not going to have as many potentially bad side effects. Viagra can cause problems for people with heart problems and high blood pressure and has been linked to some deaths in unhealthy people.
Because this isn’t directly about pumping more blood to regions of the body, because this is about triggering a high level of interest in sexual activity, the genesis of what causes us to be aroused, it gets around many of those potential problems, although it will ultimately carry the same warnings.
I’ve tried this stuff, and I’ve tried Viagra. Both worked. Both had side effects I will talk about in a moment.
But my PT-141 experience was different, from Viagra, it made me feel very horny and actively interested in sex even in a nonsexual situation. That wasn’t the case with Viagra. With a bit of stimulation, I got hard, but it didn’t make me want to have sex.
It’s also long-lasting. It works for around six hours, and sometimes longer. During that time sexual desire will be higher, and you will get erections easier, sometimes completely spontaneously.
Now that all sounds incredible, and it is. However, keep reading, because it isn’t quite as carefree as it sounds.
Can Females Use PT-141 Peptide?
It’s not recommended that females use PT-141. I’ve absolutely no idea why that is the case because there’s no evidence it does anything negative to women that it doesn’t with men. Men think about sex more, want it, and get physically aroused more easily when using this peptide.
Anecdotally, women do as well. That was also the case in studies when looking into these peptides in relation to skin tone as well.
So if it makes women aroused as well, then I can’t see why you wouldn’t want to use it if you are one.
Certainly, looking online on places like Reddit, plenty of women have tried it, and it’s had incredible effects on the sex life, especially if they are later in life when menopause has taken away some of their natural desire.
Correct Dosage For PT-141 Use Within Safe Limits
What’s the correct dosage for PT-141 to be used within? That’s a key question that is often not answered clearly. The problem is that although it’s been proven that this can raise your sex drive, it’s never been fully tested and licensed for use as a sex aid, so there’s no agreed range of dosing.
Another part of the problem is that it can darken your skin and hair over time. The dose you take, as well as the frequency, will affect this, so it’s something to bear in mind if you are considering trying it.
The dosage range is between 1 mg and 2 mg. This should be taken around one hour before sexual activity, and it can last for up to 8 hours depending on who you are, and the dose you take.
Although nasal sprays and pills were available, they were found to be more likely to cause side effects and raise blood pressure.
So now you can pretty much only get PT-141 as an injectable.
But don’t worry, you can take it easily via subcutaneous injection. That’s where you pinch the skin, slide the needle under, and slowly inject. No need to find a vein, no need to take any risk as long as the site of the injection is clean.
PT-141 Side Effects & Warnings
Although this can have brilliant effects (if you can tolerate injecting yourself), there are a few side effects to be aware of.
In trials, and out in the real world, people get nausea and stomach upset using this stuff. Not so much at low doses, but doses around 2 mg you can, and higher than that is almost certain to make you feel quite unwell, especially the first time you try it.
Because of the arousal in your mind, because of sexual excitement, which transfers the genitalia, you will increase blood flow and blood pressure.
Not as bad as with Viagra, but you will still have to be aware of the same warnings around facial flushing, blood pressure, and heart problems.
PT-141 And Cialis: Which Is Better (And What About Viagra?)
When it comes to PT-141, there are pros and cons:
Pros:
• PT-141 get you hard
• You’ll feel very aroused for several hours
• It has the pleasant side effect of gently turning you over time
• It can make you feel calm
• It can regulate appetite
Cons:
• PT-141 can make you feel quite sick at higher doses
• It’s only available on the grey market
• You have to inject it
Cialis on the other hand works exactly the same as Viagra, so anything is good and bad about Viagra, will be good and bad about that as well (mainly the problems with flushing and blood pressure).
Cialis lasts a lot longer than Viagra though. A 20 mg dose can last several hours longer than a comparatively beneficial dose of Viagra. But in all ways, the negatives of Viagra apply to it as well.
So it’s similar in terms of the amount of time it works compared to PT-141, and the effects it has. But you can take it as a pill and you don’t have to inject it.
Where To Buy PT-141 For Men To Use For Sexual Arousal
If you’d like to try PT-141 for yourself (and why wouldn’t you, just make sure you try Viagra and Cialis as well to see which works best for you), then you’ll have to buy it from an online grey market vendor.
However, lots of these guys are very well established and reputable, and you can buy the PT-141 peptide at reasonable prices, with independent lab testing for quality.
Swiss Chems are one company that does just that. They also sell Melanotan II if you’d like to compare that as well.
Swiss Chems sell a 10 mg vial of injectable PT-141 for just $31.95. With a strong dose being a couple of milligrams, that’s enough of five experiences, each lasting four hours or longer. Pretty good value as far as I’m concerned.
