Clomid PCT For Bodybuilding Guide: Instructions, Dosage & Where To Buy
Clomid is the second most widely used PCT supplement behind Nolvadex. Thousands of bodybuilders use it to recover their testosterone levels after using SARMs and steroids. This guide will tell you everything you need to know about successfully using Clomid PCT.
It’s important to understand how Clomid works, how to dose it, and what other things feed into using a post cycle therapy supplement. Clomid can be quite potent, with significant side effects at higher doses, so you need to use the minimum dose for the least amount of time.
On top of all that, this Clomid PCT guide will also tell you where to buy Clomid online, and help you to choose between Nolvadex, Clomid, and Femara.
How Clomid Works
Clomid is actually a brand name for the generic medication clomiphene substrate. That’s why you will see it for sale mostly available under the name “clomiphene”, although it is sometimes referred to as Clomid as well, even though it’s actually not the licensed product.
It’s actually licensed by the FDA for use as a fertility treatment for women. It’s important to understand it’s completely unregulated for use as a post cycle therapy supplement for bodybuilders.
Clomid is a SERM – Selective Estrogen Receptor Modulator – that works by stimulating the release of the hormone GnRH from the hypothalamus, and as a result of that, another hormone called gonadotropin from the anterior pituitary gland.
When producing higher quantities, both of these hormones help to stimulate the production of higher levels of luteinizing hormone and follicle-stimulating hormone (LH and FSH). These hormones are directly responsible for increasing the production of testosterone.
So Clomid acts much in the same way as Nolvadex, as both are SERMs. However, there are differences, and what we can say is that Clomid is far more aggressive at the same dose as Nolvadex.
Using Clomid For Bodybuilding With SARMs
Because Clomid tends to be more aggressive in producing LH and FSH, it tends to be recommended for bodybuilders use strong doses of the SARMs that are androgenic (not all SARMs do act on the androgen receptors), and steroids.
For milder SARMs or smaller doses, Nolvadex is often recommended instead of Clomid because in fact there are fewer side effects.
So what we’re talking about here is using Clomid when we are suffering from a testosterone level drop from a SARMs cycle that cannot be addressed quickly enough or aggressively enough by using Nolvadex.
Most guys say that they recognize when they are starting to suffer from testosterone drop because they feel depressed, and have low energy levels, at the point of a SARMs cycle where they are working out harder and should be gathering strength and endurance.
Put together, these are the signs of testosterone drop that should alert you:
- Gyno (breast tissue growth which is irreversible)
- Decreased libido and sperm count
- Shrunken testicles
- Erectile dysfunction
- Depression and mood swings
- Low physical and mental energy levels
- Feeling emotional
So if you are in the middle of the SARMs cycle, and you start to feel blue, low, and lacking in energy, and it goes on for a few days, then it could be a sign that your testosterone levels are dropping because your body is starting to produce less. Basically, it’s been fooled into thinking it has high levels of testosterone because the SARM has selectively binded to the androgen receptors and is mimicking testosterone in those areas.
It’s at this point that you have view options:
- Firstly, you could just continue the SARMs cycle and hope that it doesn’t get any worse before you finish. You’ll then start PCT with Nolvadex or Clomid, and your testosterone levels should bounce back over several weeks.
- Secondly, you could shorten the SARMs cycle. So if you are doing 10-week cycle and you are in week seven, go another week and then stop. You’re basically minimizing your risk of your testosterone levels dropping dramatically while keeping the cycle going as long as possible. If you feel even more drop, then you could stop.
- You could stop the SARMs cycle at that point. You would then go into PCT, and then back into your next SARMs cycle.
- You could start using Clomid (or Nolvadex) on cycle. That would mean taking a low dose of Clomid while you continue your SARMs cycle (25 mg is often used), using it to counter the effects of your body producing less testosterone, by stimulating it to start producing more through increasing LH and FSH. However, the problem with that is there are so many agonists and antagonists bouncing around in your body by doing that, but I wouldn’t really recommend it.
Clomid PCT Dosage Range
Let’s say you have just finished your SARMs cycle and you know you are suffering from a testosterone drop. If it feels really significant, you’re probably going to want to take Clomid rather than Nolvadex.
Unfortunately, because Clomid was never designed for PCT, we can’t really get a clear dosage range. However, it is used by some men on prescription to increase fertility in the sex drive. The dosage range for those guys appears to be around 50 mg per day. However, they do seem to drop that dose after a few weeks.
For me, I would suggest you start at 50 mg for the first week, and then drop to 25 mg and see if that works. You can always up the dose if you don’t feel your normal self coming back.
Which SARMs Need Clomid?
It’s easier to tell you which SARMs definitely don’t require the use of a PCT supplement.
The reason for that is that the androgenic SARMs may not require Clomid or Nolvadex depending on the dose. There’s no point in being saying you definitely will need a PCT supplement if you use LGD-4033 if you then use 2 mg every other day. Because as you’ve probably worked out, that wouldn’t affect your testosterone levels (in fact it wouldn’t do much at all).
The SARMs that don’t require Clomid are:
- MK-2866 Ostarine (as long as the dose is very low)
- GW-501516 Cardarine
- SR-9009 Stenabolic
- MK-677
Using Clomid During A SARMs Cycle
Nolvadex can definitely be used during the SARMs cycle, as long as the dose is low. Clomid can be, but as it’s more aggressive and carries more side effects, it can create more problems.
Apart from the side effects, I’m going to tell you about in a moment, you also have to think about the synergy and problems you could be causing.
If the SARMs are knocking your testosterone down, and you’re aggressively using another set of chemicals to drag them up, you’ve got a lot of different hormones bouncing around your body trying to do different things. For me, that lack of synergy isn’t intelligent.
For me, it’s far better to use Clomid as a PCT, rather than using Clomid for bodybuilding on cycle. In an emergency, sure, but routinely, I definitely wouldn’t advise it.
Possible Side Effects
Clomid is definitely more aggressive than Nolvadex at the same dosage, and can carry quite a range of side effects:
- Nausea
- Headaches
- Upset stomach
- Diarrhea
- Vision disruptions
- Hot flushes
- Aches and pains
- Confusion
However, I do have to point out that you won’t suffer all of those side effects. Even at higher doses, you are unlikely to ever experience more than a couple. But it could affect your performance levels if you do.
If you do get side effects from using Clomid, dropping the dose a little is the best advice I can give.
Femara Vs Clomid
Femara is another fertility treatment, just as Clomid and Nolvadex are partly also used for.
Femara is also not a SERM. It is an aromatase inhibitor. Aromatase inhibitors work by lowering estrogen levels by stopping an enzyme found in fat tissue from converting other hormones into estrogen.
The downside is that Femara does not appear to stimulate higher levels of LH and FSH, so it doesn’t help to stimulate the production of testosterone, it just lowers the production of estrogen. So that means that Clomid, and Nolvadex, a far better options than men using them as PCT supplements than Femara could ever be.
Where To Buy Clomid Online
let’s finish up here by telling you where to buy Clomid online.
Let me be clear here, binding Clomid for sale that pure, safe, and reasonably priced, is actually very tough. But that’s the same for finding SARMs that are good quality as well.
I buy my PCT supplements and SARMs mostly from Swiss Chems. Swiss Chems sell great value Clomid and SARMs.
60 capsules, each dosing 25 mg of clomiphene, costs $69.95 from Swiss Chems. Even at two pills a day that’s enough for an entire PCT run, and as you’re unlikely to take 50 mg for more than a few days at the start of your PCT, then a single bottle of Clomid is likely to last you a couple of SARMs cycles.
